Anyone who may be working at heights, all workers who are required to use fall protection devices while performing work, or individuals who require a basic knowledge of the principles of fall protection for their roles.
This training course provides participants with an overall understanding of what is required to comply with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code Part 9, Fall Protection.
At the end of the course, students should understand fall protection safety principles; how these principles apply to their work environment, and how to use fall protection equipment in a correct and safe manner. The content of this course covers the general principles of fall protection.
In Alberta approximately 5,000 work place fall incidents
are reported each year;
~3500 slips / trips (falls at same level)
~1500 falls to a lower level
Average of ~8 work place fatalities due to falls every
year.
The course includes both a theory and a practical section.
Length: Blended: Four hours. In-class: Six Hours
Certificate: Valid for three years
